From a kitchen worktop to Melt Me Real Good

Our story begins back in 2020.

And dare we even mention the words Covid and lockdown?

I'd handed in my notice with the police, our boxes were packed and we were ready to make the move to Scotland.

Then lockdown happened.

Like so many people, life suddenly looked very different. But in amongst all the uncertainty, I had something I hadn't expected — time to stop, take stock and think about what I really wanted from work and family life.

And that's where Melt Me Real Good began.

What started as a little kitchen-worktop hobby soon grew into something much bigger than I could ever have imagined.

Scents that take you somewhere

From the very beginning, I wanted our fragrances to be about more than simply making your home smell lovely.

I wanted them to spark a memory, create a feeling or take you somewhere special.

A walk through the woods, a wild Scottish coastline, the hidden loch or discovering the cosy bothy.

That's why every Melt Me fragrance has its own personality and story.

You'll find bold and punchy scents, calm and comforting fragrances, fresh and uplifting blends and some that are a little bit unexpected.

We like it that way.

Inspired by Scotland

Our move to Scotland has had a huge influence on Melt Me Real Good.

It's in our fragrance names, our inspiration and the stories behind our scents.

From Wild Munro and Coastal Path to Hidden Loch, The Bothy and Highland Cow, we love creating fragrances that capture little pieces of the Scottish landscape and the things we love about it.

We want you to be able to close your eyes, take a breath and be transported somewhere.

And then there were the awards...

What started as a lockdown hobby has taken us places we never expected.

In 2024, we were thrilled to receive our first award for Best Home Fragrance Business.

Since then, we've also been commended for Best Scottish Product and Best Independent Retailer.

We're incredibly proud of these achievements, particularly because Melt Me Real Good was never supposed to become what it is today.

It was simply something I started on the kitchen worktop.

But the biggest part of our story is you

Melt Me Real Good has grown because of the amazing customers who have supported us along the way.

The people who try a new scent, who come back for their favourite, people who tell their friends, people who stop us at events to tell us which fragrance they love. And the people who have been here since those early days.

Every order, every review, every recommendation and every "ooh, what's that smell?" means more than you probably realise.

What's next?

We're still experimenting, still creating whilst trying to make the next brilliant fragrance.

There are plenty more scents, ideas and adventures to come — and we can't wait to take you along for the journey.
