Our Love Of Dried Flowers
Something magic happens when we dry our flowers using nothing but air! No chemicals, not additional substances just pure natural air.
Their vibrancy is dulled, but their individual beauty is magnified. From a small crinkle on a petal to a subtle change in colour, each flower is special in its own way.
Dried flowers no longer need to have the dusty, dull old-fashioned label attached to them. From bright orange, to soft pink hues we have a colour palette for everyone.
Air Drying Vs. Preserving
The art of drying flowers has many different techniques. From using gels and silicas for preserving and simply hanging them to air dry, allowing each flower, petal and leaf take on a whole new life.
We use a variety of seasonal dried flowers that are all hand dried using the hanging technique. We love this as it gives us the opportunity to keep a close eye on each stem and petal, removing those that aren’t behaving! We also love watching each one dry, taking on new shapes, colours and patterns.
We do on occasion use preserved foliage, as we have found when air drying this it easily looses its shapes, definition and becomes very brittle. We source these from a Scottish preserver keeping our green footprint to a minimum.
